Polo's Restaurant Opens In Uptown

Polo’s will offer ‘a bit of everything’ from Italian, Thai, Japanese, French, Southwest and a host of other international cuisines made fresh daily.  Operations will be six days a week.  Lunch will be served from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM Monday through Friday.  Dinner hours will be from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM Friday and Saturday.

Chef Polo and Debra Mojarro

Reservations are suggested on the weekends and the attire is casual.  The establishment can seat 16 in the bar area and 70 in the dining area.  Polo’s plans to hire 12 new associates.

The restaurant is family owned by Chef Apolonio “Polo” Mojarro, wife Debra and two teenage children Alexa 15 and Sebastian 13.  Chef Mojarro developed this new restaurant in the Upstate after having worked for 14 years at the world renowned Ta-boo Restaurant on Worth Avenue on the Island of Palm Beach, Florida.  Chef Mojarro is a recognized professional in the restaurant industry and has won numerous awards that included 2008 Best New Chef of the Upstate and Chef of the Year in Florida as recognized by World Taste Magazine.

“Polo’s Restaurant is an exciting new venture for us in Greenwood,” stated Debra Mojarro.  “It has been a fantastic change for all of us both personally and professionally.  Combine the Uptown revitalization with quality schools in the area, parks, and affordable housing makes Greenwood a great place to do business and raise a family,” Mojarro concluded.
