For the only time during the summer concert series, two bands are scheduled to perform. They should be names very familiar to the Greenwood community.
Greenwood’s own Swingin’ Medallions and Hack Bartley & Shuffle will take the Live After 5 stage next Thursday. This will be the first time the Medallions have performed for the Live After 5 concert series.
“All of the members of the Swingin’ Medallions are excited that we will be performing for the folks of Greenwood,” said Medallion Robby Cox. “Being there is no admission charge, we expect the entire town to come out and show their support for the Medallions and their hometown,” Cox concluded.
Hack Bartley, lead singer of Hack Bartley & Shuffle, expressed similar sentiments as Cox.
"Thanks to all the people of Greenwood and the surrounding area for their continued encouragement to Hack Bartley & Shuffle,” said Bartley.
“So many friends throughout my years here have been loyal supporters. It's an honor to be a lifelong citizen of such a GREAT community steeped in southern charm & tradition. It's the best place in the world," Bartley continued.
This particular concert came together due to the desire of the bands.
“Honestly, the Medallions and Hack Bartley agreed to work within our budget to make this concert happen,” said Uptown Greenwood Development Corporation Manager Angie Jones. “They really wanted to give back to their hometown, and we are excited that they chose Live After 5 as that opportunity,” Jones concluded.
A special mobile stage, provided by Custom Audio and Lighting of Abbeville, will be used for the Medallions and Hack Bartley Live After 5. Additionally, food and beverage vendors will be located adjacent to the concert area.
Ballentine Ford Lincoln Mercury and Ballentine Toyota Scion is the official sponsor of next Thursday’s Live After 5. They will have numerous vehicles on display in Uptown during the performance.
