Formed in 1993, the Arts Council takes a leadership role in community cultural planning and development. The work of the Arts Council benefits existing arts groups and provides support for future cultural development in Greenwood County. The Council organizes its work around these goals; developing cultural facilities that serve all arts organizations, developing programs for the community, providing support to arts organizations, and advocating for cultural development.

After years of dreams, studies, planning, and a major capital campaign, our community arts center became a reality in 2006. The renovated Federal Building is now the home of the Arts Council.  With 25,000 square feet of usable space, the building offers an exciting home for the arts in Greenwood. The building includes (DOWNLOAD RENTAL POLICY):

  • Large, professional gallery
  • Gallery Shop
  • Beautiful reception hall with audio/visual capabilities
  • Conference room with audio/visual capabilities
  • Catering kitchen
  • Courtyard garden
  • Three spacious classrooms

  • Office space for Self Family Foundation
  • Office space for Greenwood Tourism and Visitors Center
