LONG ALLEY FACADE RENOVATION
May 2011 - Similar to the Maxwell Avenue Facade Improvement Project of 2008, the City is now focusing on the improvement of the Long Alley Facades. This includes the rear facades of all building on Long Alley from Thayers to Polo's/Mabry Sanders. This is made possible through a Department of Commerce grant and individual owner contributions. This project will consist of new windows, paint, doors, awnings, and lighting on the buildings with the goal of giving them a more historical look. The goal is to have this project completed by November 2011.
August 2011 - Construction is well under way, with a few of the buildings nearing completion. Check out the before & after photos below for Thayers & Uptown Pizzaz.
December 2011 - Construction is almost complete, with only gutters and downspouts to be installed, and a few finishing touches. Check out morebefore & after photos below of this wonderful project in Uptown Greenwood.
