Greenwood is the geographical, cultural and historical center of the railroad and mill town in upstate South Carolina that had its greatest period of growth and prosperity from 1890 to 1920. Historic Buildings around Uptown are being preserved and rehabilitated. There is a special tax assessment for eligible rehabilitated historic properties. Take a look some projects:

The parade will begin at 2 pm at the South Main Street Baptist Church (1000 South Main Street) and end at the Hampton Place Shopping Center (115 Hampton Av). The parade is in honor of all Veterans giving Greenwood County the opportunity to thank them for their sacrifices and service to our country.
Individuals and groups wishing to participate need to contact the Greenwood County Coalition of Veterans Organizations to register and receive a parade placement. Those not registering will be placed at the end of the parade. Registration is at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Hall of Heroes Military Museum will be open for visitors and water will be available for marchers. Retired Army Lt. Col. Jim Dominick is this year’s grand marshal.
